We’re now in Vermont, but I wanted to post another photo of some of the small amounts of fall color we’ve been seeing. This is from a spot along SR 112 – before the official start of the Kancamagus Highway. We actually had (slightly) better conditions on the west side of the “Kanc” while the Highway itself was largely socked in with fog.

There is a lot more fog east of the Mississippi River than we have here in Colorado, nor does it last very long here. I just love the colors of fall.
We don’t get as much of the reds and oranges in NC, mostly yellow. It’s been quite pretty – we thought we would be early but it seems to have started in the higher elevations. The fog is much more interesting than a clear blue sky, although some sunshine would really make the colors pop. Haven’t seen much of that the last few days.
