More Fun in Black & White

Bus Station in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Finishing up my photos from Winston Salem a few weeks ago. I’m pretty happy with these, overall, considering I’m usually a color guy. 😉

  1. I see more and more people shooting Fuji and I thoroughly enjoy the results. The tones, whether colour or b&w, are so beautiful. It helps of course when the photos are also well composed and the subject matter is eye-catching. Just like your photos Tom. I especially like the one with the parking metres and the one with the mural.

    1. I think one of the things that may often be overlooked is the contribution of the Fuji lenses. Combined with some pretty good camera profiles results in some nice looking photos. These were all shot with the 23mm 1.4, which I have come to like a lot. I’m shooting in RAW but use the Adobe translation of the Fuji profiles which does a pretty good job of mimicking the in-camera film modes.

The girls in the mural photo were giggling about me taking their photo – they must have thought I was paparazzi! 😉
