I recently posted a few reflection photos to Instagram, and it got me thinking about how much time I spend looking for reflections. My conclusion? Not nearly enough!

Photos of boats in a marina with still water are pretty low-hanging fruit. I need to remind myself that while I am looking for lines, pattern and shadows, to keep my eyes peeled for good candidates for reflections.

Wow. Glad you’re watching for reflections. No way am I going to pick a favorite out of these. The reflection in calm water is a draw for me, also.
It’s just one of those things I only think about when I’m around the water. When I see them there it is quite obvious – even I can see them! I remember several years ago seeing photographs by a woman who did reflections in store windows, making for interesting juxtapositions. I’d never be able to find her again but it’s a reminder to add that to the mix and keep on the lookout.
