I mentioned in a previous post about our bartender friend bringing us a bottle of his “Burnt Simple Syrup” for making Old Fashioneds. I took this photo for Brian and posted it on Instagram & Facebook with the following description:
His & hers Old Fashioneds made with Burnt Simple Syrup from @barkeepbrian at Dogwood: A Southern Table @dogwoodclt . His: Foursquare Rum from Barbados, Hers: Maker’s Mark Private Select. We didn’t have orange peel, so we used Woodford Reserve cherries instead. Cheers!
It was yummy!
The colour of that drink is a visual delight. Now if only I could convert that to an olfactory sensation, or better still, a tastebud sensation 🙂
Smell-O-Vision is coming in a future update! 🙂
You’re spoiled! Just that simple!
Well, our kindness to others does come back around, sometimes! 🙂 And yes, we are a bit spoiled when it comes to quality hooch.
You can quarantine me with that line up!! Yum
As you might imagine, we have a pretty nice selection of bourbons and rums to go with that Old Fashioned syrup. Unfortunately we may not be able to finish it by the “use by” date. But fortunately I’m planning to use some of it as a glaze on Alaskan Sockeye Salmon.
Oh, and I haven’t yet posted photos of our wine fridge, but it is also amply stocked. 🙂
