I read an interesting article today about Carl Sagan and the idea of a Baloney Detection Kit from his book titled “The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark.” It is a thoughtful look at critical thinking and how it is or could/should be applied to the way we view information and how we form opinions. It inspired me to request the entire book from the library to read, and it is now on my Kindle. Unfortunately it’s about 4th in line to read, but I’ll get to it!

I have the same problem with book lists. And, from my experience, trying to read more than one book at a time is a waste for me.
I keep an Excel spreadsheet of books that I want to read, and I often have more than one book on my Kindle at a time…but I can only read one at a time! My father in law would often have more than one book going at once, but one would be fiction and one non-fiction.
I recently got into a rabbit hole of sorts with music. A jazz website I follow has started a series of polls about top albums with the goal of coming up with the top 50 jazz albums of the last 50 years. Their list of the “50 top jazz albums of the 70s” got me headed down the hole. Now I’m listening to those, but at least without words I can listen while I work on photos or write. And they still have the 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s to go. Yikes!
So, that’s four more rabbit holes!
At least four! 🙂
