While we were in Ohio visiting my brother Bob, we went to Millersburg for dinner. ย Here are a few photos that I took while waiting for our table at a local restaurant that happened to be right across the street from the Holmes County Courthouse. ย It’s a classic building in classic (I’m sure there’s a proper word for it) courthouse architecture.

Great shots. I am so glad you included the date. Nice. The wide shot combined with all the detail shots succeed in kicking my imagination into action.
Thank you, Anita! There are definitely some interesting details.
This man does get around! I have to keep up! I just came back from Ohio, but have no idea where Millersburg is located. ๐ Ah, I see, some 60 or so miles south and west of Akron. Kind of our in the sticks, no? Lovely courthouse, though. ๐
My brother has a place on a little lake just south of Millersburg. And you’re right, it’s pretty far from civilization. Although they have wineries and breweries in the area, so not too uncivilized. ๐
That’s a beautiful building because of the craftsmanship. I especially like your night images.
Thanks, Monte. They don’t make buildings like they used to, do they. The night images are thanks to my “virtual tripod” shooting at ISO 3200 handheld.
This building is what I’d call “a gem in the rough.” Sometimes one can find beautiful design in the least expectant places. Nice stonework and I can only guess that in 1884 “it” didn’t happen as often as it does today.
I suspect that you are correct…on both counts!
Glad we had to wait for the table!!
Dinner was worth the wait, and I enjoyed taking some photos!
