Until I saw your comment about the tripod, I was going to give you credit for an excellent, hand-held shot, Tom. Now, it will “just” have to be, “excellent shot” 😀

Truthfully, I can generally hand-hold a shot pretty well, but where the tripod really comes in handy for me is as a compositional aid. Between the IS moving the lens image around and my body’s lack of IS, I frequently find the composition “drifting” to the point where I lose the arrangement I was looking for. That was especially true with this series, as I was shooting through a fairly narrow opening in trees with a 55-200 zoom at the longish end, so I needed to be pretty accurate.
