One of the many non-photography blogs I follow is Becoming Minimalist by Joshua Becker. I found these quotes especially appropriate given some of our recent discussions.
“Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.” —Malcolm S. Forbes
“Focus is often a matter of deciding what things you’re not going to do.” —John Carmack
Stop trying to impress others with the things that you own and begin inspiring them by the way that you live.
“Money is a poor indicator of success.” —Joshua Becker
What an excellent set of photos Tom; especially the last one which I like a lot (and that’s saying something because I’m not a fan of images taken in portrait mode) 🙂
By the way, the link you posted is broken.
Oops, thanks for the heads up – I reversed the URL and the title. These computers are just unreliable. 😉 Fixed now!
I was surprised when I realized how many of those photos are in portrait orientation. I guess I was just seeing sideways that day! I’ve taken multiple photos of the lights on that building over the years, and like them best with shadows.
I agree, a nice series of images, as usual. Went to the website and found this sentence: “The path to better living is found in developing the compassion and the space to love even those who don’t deserve it.” I like words.
I get a lot of good nuggets from that website. I have found the concept to be very inspirational as we’ve settled into our new place.
As usual, Tom, great architectural abstracts! I’ll have to visit that site and check it out.
Thanks, Paul. I think you’ll find some useful stuff on that site.
These are very nice detail shot, Tom, especially the last shot where the light is in the shadow. I checked out the site, too, and there are lots of nuggets there.
Thanks, Ken. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos and the link!
