Around Town

It’s a nice quiet Sunday night, perfect for working on some photos.  I heard something about some kind of game, but whatever.

Kathy & I have developed this idea of being “tourists in our own town” and are starting to play around with that idea.  Not Charlotte specifically, but all of the small towns around.  Too often we head to the mountains or the beach looking for something to do, when there is a lot to do in our own back yard.

We had occasion to be in Charlotte yesterday, so we spent some time walking around downtown.  It was a little chilly, but we managed to stay warm enough, we had lunch in a new (for me) restaurant, and got some fresh air.  Not a bad way to spend Groundhog Day.

Now, about that game.  It’s probably on TV, right?  Never mind. 🙂

  1. A frozen fountain? In Charlotte? 🙂 I like the idea of being tourist in small towns or even our own town. Makes for a neat project and one you can do together. And, yes, I heard there was a game also but it was played in the dark.

    1. Monte, there was a very thin layer of ice on the water, but there was quite a lot of frozen spray right at the base. It probably won’t qualify for a winter scene anywhere! 🙂

Sorry I’m slow in responding. I just realized that somehow I’ve stopped getting e-mails whenever someone comments. Probably the same gremlins that were giving you error messages last week. I guess I need to go over my settings again.

  2. Tom, nice collection of images — you probably had the streets much to yourself being that game had so many inside by the TV.
