A Week In Tuscany

Civita di Bagnoregio, Italy

Kathy & I are currently in Pienza, Italy the midst of a week long photo workshop with Jeff Curto (search for PhotographItaly.com or the Camera Position blog).  Centered in the Val d’Orcia.

If I can attempt to draw a metaphor, being here is a little like online dating but nothing like online dating.  I fell in love with the country from photographs but the area is even more beautiful than I expected.  We have an off morning today, which is fortunate because we are experiencing a well-timed rain shower.  We’re off to Montepulciano this afternoon to taste some Pecorino cheese and sample some Brunello wines and are hoping for clearing skies.

  1. These photos look great Tom. Especially glad to hear that this place has outdone the expectations you formed from the photos that you’d viewed prior to the trip. That doesn’t always happen 🙂

  2. So far, so good Cedric. The frame count is rising and I have wisely not been spending time with the computer. I may need to save that for the flight home!

  3. Always good to have trips go beyond expectations. Great series of images as usual. When I think of Italy, I think of doorways and windows with flowers just what you delivered.

  4. There has been an endless supply of subject matter this week. It’s a good thing that I don’t have to go back to work once we get home, so I’ll have time to post images and write some commentary!

  5. I’m glad to hear that the workshop and the trip are going well, beyond expectations. That looks like a beautiful place to take many inspiring and memorable photos!

  6. Wow! You have captured some very beautiful photos, Tom! Sounds like you and Kathy are having a wonderful time. A great way to send off your working years, and segue into retirement.

    Cheers!

    1. It was everything we hoped it would be, Mila! Now we’re enjoying the feeling of not having to go back to work tomorrow! 🙂

      1. You lucky dogs, you! Looking forward to some more photos from your vacation, and keeping up with you two into your retirement.
